Look, there are two words, which are understood to be one, but there is such a difference that one is for welfare and the other is for degradation. These two words are- Mercy and Charity.
First thing, whatever you have, all belongs to Bhagwan. You have found it before, then you are giving it. If He does not give, what would you have? What would you give then?
Secondly, who is another here? None. Bhagwan is spread everywhere. He is present here in all forms.
He had given it earlier, now He has come to ask. But you don't recognize Him because He has come in disguise.
Whoever has recognized Him, he will humbly give. That Bhagwan has given me more, I am giving less. He will consider him as the accountant of Bhagwan, and superior to himself. His giving is called charity, it is welfare.
On the other hand, the one who did not recognize Him, who was deceived, would get him trapped in the form, considering him inferior, helpless, humbled. As soon as the other understood something other than Bhagwan, he was in bondage. Then the other was humbled, in himself, "I am giving, I am the giver".
Lokeshanand says that the giver is the only Supreme Bhagwan.
Open your ears and listen! "Daya kari to aafat aayi", who are you to pity him? You deserve mercy yourself. He has come with pity on you.
