074 साधन में सावधानी

मुझसे मिलने आनेवाले कितने ही साधक कहते हैं कि साधन तो करते हैं, पर स्थिति में सुधार मालूम नहीं पड़ता। मैं उनसे दो बातें कहता हूँ।

१- चलते रहो, अधीर मत होओ। कब हो जाता है मालूम भी नहीं पड़ता, बस विधि पकड़े रहो, रुको मत। मंजिल आने तक यही लगता है कि कुछ हो नहीं पा रहा, पर जितना कर सको, करते रहो, यूंही गिरते पड़ते एकदिन अनायास ही मंजिल मिल जाती है।

"तलाश-ए-यार में जो ठोकरें खाया नहीं करते।

कभी वो मंजिल-ए-मकसूद को पाया नहीं करते॥"

२- गलती ढूंढो। मैं देखता हूँ कि हम खाँसी की दवाई तो समय पर लेते हैं, पर दही-अचार नहीं छोड़ते। माने भक्ति तो करते हैं, पर भोगों से मुंह नहीं मोड़ते। नाव तो खेते हैं, पर किनारे से लंगर नहीं उठाते।

अब जहाँ काम आ गया, वहाँ राम कैसे रुकें? छोटा सा बादल जैसे सूर्य को ढंक लेता है। भोग, योग से विमुख कर देता है। बहिर्मुखता, अन्तर्मुखी कैसे रहने दे?

एक दोहा है-

"राम राम सब कोई कहे, दशरथ कहे ना कोय।

एकबार दशरथ कहे, कोटि यज्ञ फल होय॥"

यहाँ दशरथ माने जो दसों इन्द्रियों को, मन की लगाम से कसकर, देह रूपी रथ की सवारी करने लगा।

तो राम राम तो सब करते हैं, पर दशरथ होकर नहीं करते, इन्द्रियों को मोड़ कर नहीं करते, इसीलिए उन्हें वह फल नहीं मिलता। जो इन्द्रियों को अंतर्मुखी कर नाम जपता है, वह पार हो जाता है।

सफलता विफलता की बात नहीं करता, प्रयास की बात करता हूँ। लोकेशानन्द की प्रार्थना स्वीकार करें, कुछ तो रोक लगाएँ, थोड़ा तो अभ्यास करें॥

How many seekers who visit me say that they do the means, but the situation does not seem to improve. I tell them two things.

1- Keep going, don't be impatient. One doesn't even know when it happens, just hold the means, don't stop. Till the time of achieving the destination, it seems that nothing would happen, but keep doing as much as you can, just walking so, you get the desired unexpectedly.

"Those who don't stumble in spiritual path, never find their destination."

2- Find the mistake. I see that we take cough medicine on time, but do not leave curd-pickle. We do chanting, but do not turn away from the desires. We sail the boat, but do not lift the anchor from the shore.

Now where desire comes, how could Bhagwan stay there? Like a small cloud covers the sun. Indulgence turns us away from devotion. How can an extrovert, be introvert at the same time? Similarly desires remove us from devotion.

There is a couplet

"Everyone says Ram Ram, nobody says Dasharath,

If you say Dasharath once, you get the destination."

Here Dasharath is a symbol of a seeker who controlled his ten senses, and started riding the chariot of the body.

So everyone says Ram Ram, but does not do it with Dasharath, does not control the senses, so he does not get that result. The one who controls the senses and chants the name, he finds the goal.

I don't talk about success or failure, it is about effort. Accept the prayer of Lokeshanand, control a little, practice a little.
