114 शास्त्र का अर्थ

बड़ा गंभीर विषय है, इतना गंभीर कि समझ न आए तो कालकूट जहर है और समझ आ जाए तो अमृत।

एक ही शब्द का सामान्य अर्थ अलग होता है और आध्यात्मिक अर्थ अलग। कभी कभी तो वह एक दूसरे से बिलकुल विपरीत ही होता है।

जैसे स्वार्थ। सामान्य रूप से इसका अर्थ है खुदगर्जी। पर आध्यात्मिक अर्थ है "स्व" का "अर्थ" जान जाना, अपने सत्य स्वरूप को पहचान लेना, अपनाआपा में प्रतिष्ठित हो जाना, नित्य अनित्य विवेक हो जाना। "स्व" माने आत्मा, जो आपका अपना होना है। अर्थ माने अात्मा की वास्तविकता जान जाना। तो सामान्य अर्थ से स्वार्थी होना बहुत बुरा है, जब की इसका आध्यात्मिक अर्थ अत्यंत श्रेष्ठ है।

अब आप स्नेहीजन बुद्धिपूर्वक गंभीरता से विचार करें कि सनातन धर्म के आध्यात्मिक शास्त्रों में प्रयोग किए गए शब्दों का, सामान्य अर्थ लगाने वाला, शास्त्र पढ़ने से पहले जितना भ्रम में होता है, पढ़ने पर उससे कईं अधिक भ्रम में पड़ जाए तो आश्चर्य कैसा?

वही शब्द विवेकी को मोक्ष का मार्ग खोल देता है, और अविवेकी को अधिक बंधन में डाल देता है। हैरानी नहीं कि इसी कारण शास्त्र पढ़ना सदा से पात्रता का विषय रहा है।

क्योंकि नियम यह है कि कभी किसी मुमुक्षु साधक को, कोई आत्मज्ञानी महापुरुष, जिस ऊँचाई पर खड़े होकर पहली बार आत्मा विषयक उपदेश करता है, कालांतर में उसी उपदेश को शास्त्र नाम से जाना जाता है। और किसी अन्य समय, उसी महापुरुष की ऊँचाई पर खड़ा कोई अन्य महापुरुष, उसका वास्तविक अर्थ स्वयं समझता भी है और अधिकारी साधक को समझा भी सकता है।

इसीलिए तो पूर्व में शास्त्र मौखिक थे, कहीं कोई हस्तलिखित प्रति भविष्य के लिए संभाल रखी जाती थी। जनसामान्य को तो, संस्कार डालने के लिए, भगवान के जीवन चरित्रों की सरल कहानी ही सुनाई जाती थी।

पर आज शास्त्र छाप दिया गया है, दो दो रुपए में बाजार में बिकता है, जो आध्यात्म का "क ख ग" तक नहीं जानता, वह भी उसे खरीद कर पढ़ता है, मनमाना अर्थ लगाता है, और भ्रम के सागर में डूब जाता है।

लोकेशानन्द की बात पर ध्यान दो! शास्त्र न तो सूर्य प्रकाश में समझा जाता है, न चन्द्र प्रकाश में समझा जाता है, न ही कृत्रिम प्रकाश में समझा जाता है। शास्त्र जब भी समझा जाता है, किसी आत्मज्ञानी महापुरुष के ज्ञान प्रकाश में समझा जाता है।

Because the sermon given by an enlightened sage, to a seeker, is known as Scripture. And at some other time, any other great man standing at the same height of that great man, understands its true meaning and can explain it to an eligible seeker.

That is why in the past the scriptures were oral, only somewhere a handwritten copy was kept for the future. The public was told the simple story of the life characters of God, to perform the rituals.

But today the scripture has been printed. It sells in the market for two rupees, who doesn't even know the "A B C" of spirituality, he also buys and studies it, makes arbitrary meaning, and gets immersed in the ocean of illusion.

Pay attention to the talk of Lokeshanand! Scripture is not understood in sunlight, nor in moon light, neither in artificial light. Whenever scripture is understood, it is understood in the light of knowledge of an enlightened great man.
