129 गोपी चीर हरण प्रसंग

जन्मों जन्मों से अनन्त दुख भोग रहे जीव को, अपने समस्त सत्कर्मों के फल स्वरूप, किन्हीं आत्मज्ञानी महापुरुष का संग प्राप्त हो जाए, तब कहीं जाकर उसे अपने जीवन का लक्ष्य स्पष्ट होता है।

उन संत के मार्गदर्शन से, वह सही मार्ग को पहचान कर साधन की दौड़ में लगता है। कभी दौड़ते, कभी गिरते, तो कभी पुनः उठकर, उत्साह से चलते चलते, कितनी ही कठिनाइयों को सहन कर, वह कर्म की धारा में, साधन में, आकंठ डूब पाता है।

पर उसके दुख की निवृत्ति नहीं हो पाती। क्योंकि संकट यह है कि जितने समय वह साधन में डूबा रहता है, अज्ञान का आवरण हटा रहता है, पर पुनः व्यवहार में आते ही, फिर से वही आवरण पड़ जाता है। यों वर्षों तक, बार बार आवरण भंग और फिर फिर आवरण पड़ते रहने से, उसे जीवन बोझ लगने लगता है।

ऐसी अवस्था में जब तड़प असह्य हो जाती है, जीभ पर छाले और आँखों में जाले पड़ जाते हैं, कि और कब? कब? आखिर कब? तब जिसका भगवान के सिवा दूसरा कोई बचा ही नहीं, यदि भगवान स्वयं ही कृपा करके, अपने हाथों से उस अज्ञान के आवरण को न हटा लें तो और कौन उसका सहारा बने?

यही गोपी चीर हरण प्रसंग का रहस्य है। कन्हैया छोटे से थे, या गोपियाँ तो उनकी अपनी थीं, या पूर्वजन्म की कोल भील थीं, या ये था कि वो था, इन बकवास तर्कों से क्या होगा? इस लीला का अर्थ न जानने से ही, संतों की तो जीभ सूख गई पर उत्तर देते न बना, और असंतों ने भले कुल की कन्याओं को बरगला कर खूब खेल खेले।

विचार करें कि गोपी कौन है? "गो" माने इन्द्रियाँ, "पी" माने सुखा डालना। जिसने अपनी इन्द्रियों में बह रहे वासना रस को सुखा डाला। लाख विषय आँख के सामने से गुजरते हों, पर अंत:करण में वासना की एक रेखा तक न खिंचती हो, ऐसा साधक गोपी है। और यमुना?

"कर्म कथा रविनंदिनी बरनि।"

साधन की, कर्म की धारा ही यमुना है।

तो कर्म की धारा यमुना में आकंठ डूबे जिस साधक का साधन पूर्ण हो गया, उसे तो फल मिलने का समय आ गया। तब क्यों न भगवान कृपा कर दें? क्यों न उसके स्वरूप पर पड़ा अज्ञान का आवरण उठा लें?

बस यही हुआ, पर्दा हट गया, अज्ञान मिट गया, आत्मस्वरूप साक्षात हो गया, उपलब्धि हो गई, मंजिल मिल गई, बात बन गई। इसमें संशय कहाँ रहा?

जो अभी गोपी नहीं हुआ, वह लोकेशानन्द की बात मानकर खूब साधन किया करे। और जो गोपी हो गया, वह दिनरात तड़पा करे, कि भगवान कृपा तो तूने खूब की, बस यह अंतिम कृपा कब होगी? मेरा वस्त्र कब चुराया जाएगा?

A human being who is suffering with sorrows from births, when gets the result of all his good deeds, he finds an enlightened great man, and comes to know about the goal of his life.

Under the guidance of that sant, he recognizes the right path and starts means. Sometimes running, sometimes falling, sometimes getting up again, walking enthusiastically, having endured so many difficulties, he is able to immerse in the stream of karma, means.

But his grief doesn't end. Because the crisis is that the time he is immersed in the means, the cover of ignorance is removed, but when it comes into worldly affairs again, the same cover comes again. This repeated visitation of ignorance for many years makes his life a burden.

In such a situation when the yearning becomes unbearable, when he has blisters on his tongue and webs in his eyes, that when? When after all? Then he has no one left except Bhagwan, if Bhagwan Himself does not take away the cover of ignorance by His own grace, then who else will help him?

This is the secret of "Gopi's clothes stealing episode." Kanhaiya was a child, or the gopis were his own, or this, or that, what would happen with these nonsense arguments? By not knowing the meaning of this episode, the tongue of the sants dried up but they couldn't answer, and the hypocrites played a lot of games by tricking girls from noble families.

Think who is Gopi? "Go" means senses, "Pi" means to dry, the one who has dried the sensual lust flowing in the senses is Gopi. A million of things pass through eyes, but do not draw a single line of lust in conscience, such a seeker is Gopi. And Yamuna?

"Karm katha Ravinandini barani."

The stream of karma, of means, is Yamuna.

So the seeker who has been immersed in the stream of karma, and his time has come to reap the fruits. Then why not Bhagwan bless him? Why not take the cover of ignorance lying on his true self?

This is what happened, the curtain was removed, ignorance was erased, true self was achieved, salvation was attained, destination was found. Where is any doubt in this?

One who has not yet become Gopi, he should do a lot of means by accepting Lokeshanand's request. And the one who is gopi, should yearn day and night, that you have blessed me so much, when will this last grace be? When my clothes will be stolen?
