190 विज्ञान और अध्यात्मज्ञान

विज्ञान और अध्यात्मज्ञान में कोई विरोध नहीं है, दोनों ही खोज हैं। बस दिशा का अंतर होने से विरोध मालूम पड़ता है।

ध्यान दें, विज्ञान 'यह' की खोज करता है, अध्यात्म 'मैं' की। विज्ञान 'जाना जाने वाले' की खोज करता है, अध्यात्म 'जानने वाले' की। विज्ञान 'कार्य' की खोज करता है, अध्यात्म 'कारण' की। विज्ञान 'सुख के साधनों' की खोज करता है, अध्यात्म 'आनन्द' की।

आप विवेकपूर्वक विचार करें कि यदि आप भीतर से सुखी न हों, शांत न हों, तो सुख साधन आपको सुख कैसे दें? अशांत चित्त वाले को, जगत के रंगीन नजारे रुचिकर कैसे हों? तन से आप कहीं भी हों, मन में दुख हो, तो सुख कैसा? जड़ सूख जाए तो फूल पत्ते कितने समय तक टिकें?

हैरानी तो यह है कि बाहर की खोज भी एक भीतर से शांत मनुष्य ही कर सकता है। यही कारण है कि जगत में बड़े से बड़े जो शोध हुए हैं, जैसे धातु-रसायन विज्ञान, भौतिकी, विमानशास्त्र, गणित, ज्यामिति, नक्षत्र-खगोल विज्ञान, ज्योतिष, आयुर्वेद, संस्कृत आदि, वे परमशांत अवस्था को प्राप्त वैज्ञानिकों से ही हुई हैं। पर भारत में उन्हें वैज्ञानिक नहीं, ॠषि-मुनि कहा जाता है। जैसे ॠषि नागार्जुन, कणाद, बौधायन, कौमारभृत्य, ब्रह्मगुप्त, वाग्भट्ट, भास्कराचार्य, वराहमिहिर, पाणिनी, पतंजलि, चरक, धन्वंतरि, सुश्रुत, आर्यभट्ट, विश्वकर्मा, कपिलमुनि, भृगु, गर्ग, अगस्त्य, मुनि भारद्वाज आदि।

असल में भीतर किया गया थोड़ा सा प्रयास भी, बाहर अविश्वसनीय कार्यक्षमता बढ़ाने वाला है। तब दोनों में सामन्जस्य बैठा लेने वाला साधक, दृढ़ संकल्पवान होकर, ऊर्जा से भर कर, दिव्यता को ग्रहण कर, क्यों नहीं नई से नई उपलब्धियों को छू लेगा?

इसी भीतर की खोज के लिए, हमारे सभी शास्त्र हैं। बस हमें एकबार उन शास्त्रों में लिखे सूत्रों का असल अर्थ ही समझना है। लोकेशानन्द कहता है कि तब संशय संशय नहीं रहता, रहस्य रहस्य नहीं रहता, कार्यक्षमता अनन्त गुणा हो जाती है।

There is no conflict between science and spirituality, both are discoveries. Just because their directions are different, there seems to be a contradiction.

Note, science searches for 'this', spirituality searches for 'I'. Science seeks the 'Known', Spirituality the 'Knower'. Science searches for 'Effect', Spirituality for 'Cause'. Science searches for 'Means of happiness', Spirituality searches for 'Bliss'.

Consider that if you are not happy from within, if you are not calm, then how can the means of happiness give you happiness? To a disturbed mind, how can the colorful views of the world be interesting? Wherever you are from the body, if there is sorrow in the mind, then how is happiness? How long do flowers and leaves last if the root dries up?

The surprising thing is that only someone who is calm within, can explore outside. This is the reason that the greatest researches done in the world, such as metallurgy, physics, avionics, mathematics, geometry, astronomy, astrology, Ayurveda, Sanskrit, etc., have been done by scientists who have attained supreme peace. But in India they are called as sages, not scientist. Such as Sage Nagarjun, Kanad, Baudhayan, Kaumabhritya, Brahmagupt, Vagbhat, Bhaskaracharya, Varahamihir, Panini, Patanjali, Charak, Dhanvantari, Sushrut, Aryabhat, Vishwakarma, Kapilmuni, Bhrigu, Garg, Agastya, Muni Bharadwaj etc.

In fact, even a little effort within, boosts an incredible performance outside. Then the seeker who is in harmony between these two, being determined, filled with energy, accepting the divinity, why not touch new achievements?

For this inner search, we have all our scriptures. We just have to understand the real meaning of formulas written in those scriptures once. Lokeshanand says that then doubt does not remain doubt, mystery does not remain mystery, efficiency becomes infinitely multiplied.
