388 यक्ष प्रश्न
महाकाव्य महाभारत के अरण्यपर्व में, यक्ष और युधिष्ठिर के बीच जो संवाद हुआ, वही यक्ष प्रश्न प्रसंग है। सभी के जीवन से जुड़े उन प्रश्नों के उत्तर जानने के लिए अंत तक ध्यान से पढ़ें।
एक बार पाण्डव अपने तेरह-वर्षीय वनवास में, प्यास बुझाने के लिए एक जलाशय से पानी लेने पहुँचे।
जलाशय के स्वामी अदृश्य यक्ष ने आकाशवाणी द्वारा पहले कुछ प्रश्नों का उत्तर देने की शर्त रखी। सहदेव, नकुल, अर्जुन और भीम ने उस शर्त को अनदेखा कर जलाशय से पानी लेने का प्रयास किया, और इसी कारण चारों निर्जीव हो गए।
अंत में युधिष्ठिर ने धैर्यपूर्वक सभी प्रश्नों का उत्तर दिया, जिससे यक्ष संतुष्ट हुआ और पाण्डवों के प्राण बचे।
प्रश्न अनेक हैं, लोकेशानन्द यहाँ संक्षेप में नौ ही लिख रहा है-
१- मैं कौन हूँ?
= जो जानने में आता है, वह तुम नहीं हो। देह मन बुद्धि इंद्रियाँ तुम नहीं हो, तुम तो उन्हें और उनके माध्यम से जानने वाले हो।
२- जीवन का उद्देश्य क्या है?
= स्वयं को जानना जीवन का उद्देश्य है। यही मोक्ष है, मुक्ति है।
३- जन्म का कारण क्या है?
= सांसारिक कामनाएँ ही जन्म का मूल कारण हैं।
४- जन्म मरण से मुक्त कौन है?
= जिसने स्वयं को, आत्मा को जान लिया, वह जन्म मरण से मुक्त है।
५- संसार में दुख क्यों है?
= कामना और उससे उत्पन्न भय ही दुख का एकमात्र कारण है।
६- ईश्वर ने दुख की रचना क्यों की?
= ईश्वर से दुख की नहीं, संसार की ही रचना हुई। मनुष्य ने स्वयं अपनी कामनाओं से दुख की कल्पना की है।
७- संसार में सबसे महान आश्चर्य क्या है?
= प्रतिदिन अपनी आँखों से दूसरों की मृत्यु देखते हुए भी, मनुष्य को अपनी मृत्यु का विचार तक नहीं आता। यही महान आश्चर्य है।
८- किसी का ब्राह्मण होना किस बात पर निर्भर करता है?
= ब्राह्मणत्व जन्म से नहीं होता। ब्राह्मणत्व तो गुण और स्वभाव पर ही निर्भर है। जन्मना ब्राह्मण यदि आत्मज्ञान विहीन है, तो वह ब्राह्मण नहीं है। और कोई अन्य जो जन्मना ब्राह्मण नहीं है, यदि वह आत्मज्ञानी है, तो वह ब्राह्मण है।
९- कौन से शास्त्र का अध्ययन करके मनुष्य ज्ञानवान होता है?
= आत्मज्ञान शास्त्राध्ययन मात्र से नहीं होता। आत्मज्ञानी महापुरुष के संग से ही मनुष्य ज्ञानवान होता है।
In Aranyaparv of epic Mahabharat, the dialogue between Yaksh and Yudhishthir is known as Yaksha Prashna. Read carefully till the end to know the answers to the questions related to everyone's life.
Once, Pandavas, in their thirteen-year exile, arrived to fetch water from a reservoir to quench their thirst.
The unseen Yaksha, the lord of the reservoir, made the condition of first answering few questions. Sahadev, Nakul, Arjun and Bheem tried to take water, ignoring that condition, and they became unconscious.
In the end Yudhishthir patiently answered all the questions, which satisfied Yaksha and saved their life.
There are so many questions, Here Lokshanand is writing briefly-
1- Who am I?
= Whatever comes to know, is not you. You are not body, mind, senses. You are the one who knows them and through them.
2- What is the purpose of life?
= Knowing soul, salvation,
is the purpose of life.
3- What is the reason for birth?
= Worldly desires are the root cause of birth.
4- Who is free from birth and death?
= One who knows soul, is free from birth and death.
5- Why is there sorrow in the world?
= The only cause for sorrow is desire and fears arising from it.
6- Why did Bhagwan created sorrows?
= Bhagwan created the world only, not sorrows. Human himself has imagined sorrows with his desires.
7- What is the greatest wonder in the world?
= Even seeing the death of others with our own eyes everyday, human doesn't even think of death. This is the greatest wonder.
8- Who is a Brahmin?
= To be a Brahmin is not by birth. It depends upon one's virtues and realization. If a by birth Brahmin is devoid of realization, he is not a Brahmin. Any other who is not a born Brahmin, if he is enlightened, is a Brahmin.
9- Studying which scripture does make a human enlightened?
= Enlightenment is not just by studying a scripture. It can be achieved only by associating to a Enlightened Guru.
