391 गणेश निरूपण

किसी भी कथा का तन के तल से अर्थ न लेकर, यदि मन के तल पर अर्थ लगाया जाए, तो कथा का रहस्य स्वयंमेव बुद्धि में उतर आता है। यही शास्त्र समझने का रसायन है।

कथा आती है कि उमा स्नान करने गईं, तो तन की मैल से बाहर एक बालक खड़ा कर दिया। उमा माने साधक। तन स्वच्छ करने की क्रिया का नाम स्नान है, तो मन स्वच्छ करने की क्रिया को ध्यान नाम से जाना जाता है। और मन की मैल का अर्थ है अहंकार। इधर साधक ध्यान में बैठता है, उधर अहंकार खड़ा हो जाता है। कि देखो! "मैं ध्यान कर रहा हूँ।"

तभी शंकर जी आए, गुरू जी आए। नियम यह है कि आप कुछ भी साधन क्यों न कर रहे हों, गुरू जी आएँ तो आसन त्याग कर प्रणाम किया जाए। पर वह बालक, वह अहंकार बाधा डालता है। अब गुरू जी कुछ भी सहन कर सकते हैं, अहंकार सहन कैसे हो? गुरू जी ने अहंकार का ही सिर काट डाला।

उमा को बड़ा कष्ट हुआ। हो भी क्यों न? चोट सदा अहंकार को ही लगती है। गुरू जी समझाते हैं कि यह कष्ट बस कुछ ही समय का है। अब अहंकार न रहा, तो कष्ट भी न रहेगा। तुम तो शांतिपूर्वक सूर्योदय की प्रतीक्षा करो।

सूर्य आत्मा का प्रतीक है। सूर्योदय आत्मज्ञान का। अहंकार मिट गया, सब बाधाएँ मिट गईं, निरहंकारिता उपलब्ध हुई, आत्मज्ञान में देरी क्या रही? और दुनियावालों को सनद रहे, इसीलिए हाथी का सिर।

जब तक अहंकार था, निंदा का पात्र था। अब निरहंकारिता होने पर सभी सद्गुणों का राजा हो गया। "सुरगण सद्गुण" सद्गुण ही सुरगण हैं। समस्त सद्गुणों का शिरोमणि हो गया।

लोकेशानन्द कहता है कि जब तक निरहंकारिता उपलब्ध न हो, सत्कर्म प्रारंभ ही कहाँ हुआ? तब तक तो सत्कर्म अहंकार को ही पोषित करेगा। इसीलिए कोई भी सत्कर्म प्रारंभ करने से पहले गणेश जी का वंदन। पहले निरहंकारिता, फिर सत्कर्म।

हमें भी इसी विधि से चलते हुए, सनातन धर्म की प्रत्येक कथा का अर्थ, अंतःकरण की दृष्टि से करना चाहिए।

By not taking the meaning of any story from the point of view of the body, if meaning is taken at point of view of the mind, then the mystery of the story itself comes down in the intellect. This is the formula of understanding scriptures.

The story is that Uma went to bathe, and made a child stand out from the scum of the body. Uma means seeker. The name of cleansing the body is bath, then the action of cleansing the mind is known as Meditation. And the scum of the mind is ego. Here the seeker sits in meditation, there ego arises. Look! "I'm meditating."

Then Shankar ji came, Guru ji came. The rule is that no matter what means you are doing, if Guru ji comes, then you should do stand up and bow down on Guru ji's feet. But that child, the ego, obstructs. Now Guru ji can bear anything, how can ego be tolerated? Guru ji beheaded this ego.

Uma suffered greatly. Why not? The ego always feels hurt. Guru ji explains that this suffering is only for a short time. If there is no ego, then there will be no suffering. You wait for the sunrise peacefully.

Sun is the symbol of soul. And sunrise means enlightenment. Ego was erased, all obstacles were erased, what was the delay in enlightenment? And the world should know, that is why the elephant's head.

As long as there was ego, it deserved condemnation. Now became egoless, has become the king of all virtues. "Surgan Sadgun" Virtues are the only deities. Became the king of all virtues.

Lokeshanand says that as long as ego is there, where did the auspicious deeds begin? Till then every auspicious act will nourish the ego. That is why the worship of Ganesh before starting any ritual. First leave ego, then auspicious deeds.

We too should interpret each and every story of Sanatan Dharma from the point of view of mind.
