Tongue is a very important part of human body. Nearly all the remaining senses are two but they work only one, as the eyes are two, but only sees. Although the nose is one, but nostrils are two. Ears, hands, feet are also two. But the tongue, despite being one, serves two things, tasting and speaking.
All other senses are relative to external conditions. Whatever will happen, the same can be seen, smelled or touched. You can know the pitcher as pitcher, and the aroma of sandal as the aroma of sandal. But tongue is relative to intellect. If the intellect is favorable then the rotten food also looks tasty, and if the intellect is not favorable then the tasty food also starts to taste unappealing. Thus the tongue is the most bizarre sense.
If this boneless tongue is shaken a bit, the family breaks down. If there is no property division, no land is being cut, even no sticks or swords are moved, just the tongue moves, and the heads split immediately. That is why the tongue should be used thoughtfully.
Now some seeker oriented tips-
Seek the cause of most diseases in your kitchen, before hospital.
Eat as much as necessary. And as necessary is eating, as necessary is to drink water, exercise and to walk.
Keep one fast (Ekadashi) in a month. Do not eat sweet one day and one day salt in a week.
Remember that food is for life, not for taste. Food is just a means for hymn.
Do not stand and eat food and drink water before one hour or after one hour.
Always keep a gap of at least five hours between two meals.
Do not speak if possible. If you have to speak then speak only when it is absolutely necessary.
Speak only after thinking a lot. Speak the truth, speak sweet, speak less, speak words of welfare.
Do not call someone if you need him, go to him and request him.
If anyone blames you, be silent. If you are innocent then surely keep silence, even if you are culprit, then also correct the defect by remaining silent.
Do not preach among many preachers. Do not answer the question unless specifically asked to you.
And Lokeshanand's final suggestion is that keep your tongue, in chanting and Bhagwan's praise, as much as you can.
