418 माँग

भगवान की प्राप्ति में सबसे बड़ी बाधा भगवान से कुछ माँग लेना है। यह जानते हुए भी, कि जो आवश्यक है वह तो बिना माँगे ही मिल जाता है, और अनावश्यक माँगने पर भी नहीं मिलता, तुम माँगने से नहीं चूकते। देखो! तुम कुछ न माँगो तो जगत भी जगदीश है, माँगो तो जगदीश भी जगत बन जाता है। भगवान से कुछ माँगते ही, संबंध भगवान से न रह कर, वस्तु से बन जाता है।

मौत और मोक्ष में माँग का ही अंतर है, माँग रहते प्राण चला जाए तो मौत, और प्राण के रहते माँग चली जाए तो मोक्ष। माँग हो तो भगवान के लिए तड़प कैसे हो? जैसे प्राण विहीन तन हिल नहीं पाता, तड़प विहीन मन साधन नहीं कर पाता।

विचार करो कि माँगने का कुछ लाभ भी है? जैसे लोटे का पानी बाहर किया जा सकता है, लोटे का आकाश नहीं। लक्ष्मी का तो क्षणिक आनन्द है, लक्ष्मीपति का आनन्द ही सतत है।

जो कहता है कि मुझे और कुछ नहीं चाहिए, बस आपका आशीर्वाद मिल जाए, उसने एक नई माँग पकड़ ली। आशीर्वाद का फल इच्छाओं की पूर्ति नहीं, इच्छाओं की निवृत्ति है। फिर आशीर्वाद भी कोई माँगने की वस्तु नहीं। आशीर्वाद तो आपके भाव और सेवा के फलस्वरूप स्वाभाविक ही मिलता है। आज सेवा कहाँ, सेवा तो शब्द मात्र बचा है, पर जो साधन तक नहीं करता, पर संत से आशीर्वाद माँगता है, वह कहता है, कि साधन आप करो और आशीर्वाद हमें दे दो। यदि तुम स्वयं साधन करो तो तुम्हारे लिए स्वयं तुम्हारा ही आशीर्वाद निर्मित हो जाए।

और अब भी मन न मानता हो तो समझो कि आप भगवान की जाति के हैं, मन जगत की जाति का है। मन जगत में जाए तो भी तुम इसके पीछे न जाओ, बल्कि इसे पीछे खींचने का प्रयास करो।

तीन बातें हैं। कुछ भी न माँगते हुए, व्यवहार से बचा समय भजन में लगाना बहुत अच्छा है। व्यवहार करते हुए भजन में मन लगाए रखना और भी अच्छा है। पर भजन करते हुए ही सब व्यवहार बढ़िया से बढ़िया निभाते चलना बहुत बहुत अच्छा है। पहला ठीक है, नियम पालन हो जाता है। दूसरे में व्यवहार मुख्य है, भजन गौण है। पर तीसरे में तो व्यवहार ही गौण है, भजन मुख्य है। तब तो व्यवहार भी भगवान के निमित्त होने लगता है।

लोकेशानन्द कहता है कि किसी माँग के चलते, भजन छोड़ कर स्वेच्छाचारी हो जाना ठीक नहीं। यह तो राक्षसों का लक्षण है। यही रावण ने किया, यही हिरण्यकशिपु ने किया। पर आप अच्छे साधक हैं, आप ऐसा मत करना।

The biggest obstacle in enlightenment is to demand something from Bhagwan. Knowing that you get what is necessary without asking, and you do not get it even if you ask for unnecessary things, you do not fail to ask. Look! If you don't ask for anything, the world is also Bhagwan, and if you ask, Bhagwan also becomes the world. As soon as we ask Bhagwan for something, the relationship is made not with Bhagwan, but with the object.

The only difference between death and salvation is demand. If there is a demand, how can you yearn for Bhagwan? Just as a body without life cannot move, a mind without yearning cannot perform means.

Think! Is there any benefit of asking? Just as the water from the pot can be taken out, the sky of the pot cannot. Lakshmi's happiness is only momentary, Lakshmipati's happiness is constant.

The one who says I don't want anything else, just get your blessings, has caught a new demand. The result of blessings is not the fulfillment of desires, but the cessation of desires. Then even blessings are not something to be asked for. Blessings come naturally as a result of your sentiments and service. Where is service today, only words are left for service, but the one who does not even do the means, but seeks blessings from the sant, he says that you do the means and give the blessings to me. If you do the means yourself, then your own blessings will be created for you.

And if your mind still does not believe, then understand that you belong to the caste of Bhagwan, the mind belongs to the caste of the world. Even if the mind goes into the world, don't go after it, but try to pull it back.

There are three things. Without asking for anything, it is very good to spend the time left over from behavior in hymns. It is even better to keep one's mind in hymns while doing all the work. But it is very good to keep doing all the behavior while doing hymns. The first one is fine, the resolve gets followed. In the second, behavior is the main, hymn is secondary. But in the third, the behavior is secondary, the hymn is the main. Then the behavior also starts happening for the sake of Bhagwan.

Lokeshanand says that due to some desire, it is not right to leave the hymn and become autocratic. These are signs of demons. This is what Ravan did, this is what Hiranyakashipu did. But you are a good seeker, you shouldn't do that.
