Think very carefully! The mind is human, not the physical body. Whatever mind has done, consider it done, and what mind has left, consider it to be left. If mind has not seen, then even the object lying in front cannot be seen. If mind sees and the object is not in front, even then it is.
The mind with desires, having attained the utmost foolishness, with its will power, imagines different types of bodies, birth and death, happiness and sorrow and fear and fearlessness. Just as because of not being able to see well, a stub appears to be a false ghost, similarly, under the influence of an ignorant mind, this long-lasting dream called world, appears to you as still.
The man who does not give much opportunity to the mind to desire, stabilizes his mind like an elephant tied to a pole. Just as the ocean had become calm when the Mandarachal mountain became stable, the illusion of the world gets quenched when the mind becomes devoid of desires.
Look! For whom it is difficult to give up desires, he does not even deserve to be called a human being, he is a worm of lust. To free one's mind from desires is a spontaneous and independent task. One who is not capable of even this, how will he behave in the practical time?
To be without desires is the death of the mind. Desire is ignorance and the mere destruction of desire is salvation. Just as a river dries up due to the drying up of its source, by giving up desires, ignorance is destroyed.
Like in a dream "Oh I'm dead!" Man starts getting destroyed by this resolution. and "I woke up!" With this resolution he gets rid of the misery of the dream without making any effort. In the same way, folly is attained by a desiring mind, and salvation is attained by effort in the form of contemplation of Bhagwan. As the night passes from sunrise, as soon as the true knowledge of Bhagwan arises, don't know where the ignorance disappears.
Lokeshanand says that just as a wise father engages his son in good deeds, a learned man should devote his mind to the path of welfare. Because even in the fierce fire of the doomsday, there is no harm to a man with a desireless mind.
