426 मंदिर और मदिरा

मेरे प्रिय अग्रज कोलकाता के श्री विनय तिवारी जी से एक महत्वपूर्ण विचार की प्राप्ति हुई। आज उसी पर चर्चा।

इस जगत में अनगिनत मंदिर हैं, पर जितने भी हैं, दो ही प्रकार के हैं। एक मंदिर वे हैं जो हमने बनाए हैं, एक मंदिर भगवान ने बनाए हैं।

हमारे बनाए मंदिरों में हमने अपनी मर्जी से, स्वयं चुनाव करके, धातु या पत्थर की मूर्ति को, ये मेरे भगवान हैं ऐसा मान कर बैठाया है। भगवान के बनाए मंदिरों में भगवान स्वयं साक्षात बैठते हैं।

हमारे बनाए मंदिर बाहर से कभी साफ किए जाते हों न किए जाते हों, पर भीतर से नियमपूर्वक रोज साफ किए जाते हैं। जबकि भगवान के बनाए मंदिरों को भीतर से तो कोई विरला ही साफ करता है, पर बाहर से वे नित्य प्रति साफ किए जाते हैं।

हमारे बनाए मंदिरों में भगवान ही प्रमुख है, भगवान के बनाए मंदिरों में भगवान नहीं, मंदिर की दीवारें प्रमुख हैं। भगवान तो किसी के ध्यान में भी नहीं रहते।

हमारे बनाए मंदिरों में भक्ष्य अभक्ष्य का, शुद्ध अशुद्ध का, विधि निषेध का, करने योग्य और न करने योग्य का, अधिकारी अनाधिकारी का, बहुत विचार होता है। भगवान के बनाए मंदिरों के विषय में हम ऐसा कोई विचार नहीं करते।

किसी ने शराब पी हो, गुटका तम्बाकू मुंह में दबाया हो, कंधे पर माँस मच्छी से भरा थैला लटका हो, जलती हुई सिगरेट अंगुलियों में फंसी हो, नग्न हो, और हमारे बनाए मंदिरों में प्रवेश कर जाए तो बवाल हो जाए। भगवान के बनाए मंदिरों में कोई भी कुकर्म हो, हत्या, काम भोग, परधनहरण, कुत्सित योजनाएँ, षडयंत्र, निंदा स्तुति, कुछ भी क्यों न हो, किसी को कोई परेशानी नहीं।

हमारे बनाए मंदिरों में बैठे भगवान बोलते नहीं, भगवान के बनाए मंदिरों में भगवान तो बोलते हैं, पर हम उनकी सुनते नहीं।

लोकेशानन्द कहता है कि और कुछ संभव हो या न हो, कम से कम हमें भगवान के बनाए मंदिरों के विषय में, अपने खान पान का तो विचार करना ही चाहिए। क्योंकि हम जो भी खाकर वहाँ जाते हैं, वह भगवान के सिर, मुखमंडल और संपूर्ण देह पर जा गिरता है।

तुम्हारा शरीर ही भगवान का बनाया मंदिर है, इसी में भगवान बैठे हैं।

There are innumerable temples in this world, but there are only two types of them. A temple is what we have built, a temple is made by Bhagwan.

In the temples built by us, we have made a metal or stone idol of our own choice, believing it to be our Bhagwan. In the temples built by Bhagwan, Bhagwan sits himself.

The temples built by us may or may not have been cleaned from outside, but are regularly cleaned daily from inside. While the temples built by Bhagwan are rarely cleaned from within, but from outside they are cleaned regularly.

Bhagwan is prominent in the temples built by us, but in the temples built by Bhagwan, not Bhagwan, the walls of the temple are prominent. Nobody pays attention to Bhagwan.

In the temples built by us, there is a lot of thought about eatable-uneatable, pure-impure, doable-avoidable, eligible-ineligible. We do not even think like this when it comes to temples built by Bhagwan.

If someone has drunk alcohol, or chewing gutka tobacco, or a bag full of meat and fish hangs over his shoulder, or holds a burning cigarette in fingers, or is naked, and enters the temple built by us, there will be a ruckus. But whether there is any misdemeanor in the temples built by Bhagwan, murder, lustful act, malicious schemes, conspiracy, blasphemy, whatever happens, no one has any problem.

Bhagwan does not speak in the temples built by us, but in the temples built by Bhagwan, Bhagwan speaks, we do not listen to him.

Lokeshanand says that anything else is possible or not, at least we should think about what we eat or drink before entering the temples built by Bhagwan. Because whatever we eat, it falls on the head, face and entire body of Bhagwan.

Your body is the temple built by Bhagwan, in which Bhagwan is sitting.
