220 दशरथ दशानन

रामायण जी में दो पात्र हैं जिनके नाम के आगे "दस" लगा है। दशरथ और दशानन।

चलें, इनके आध्यात्मिक स्वरूप की चर्चा करें। विचार करें कि दशरथ किसे कहा जाता है?

देखो, दस हैं हमारी इन्द्रियाँ। जो मनुष्य, इन दसों इन्द्रियों को, मन रूपी लगाम से कस कर, बुद्धि रूपी सारथि के हाथ में पकड़ा कर, इस देह रूपी रथ की सवारी करने लगा। माने जो देहादि का गुलाम नहीं रहा, जो अंतर्मुखी हो गया, परमात्मोन्मुखी हो गया, जिसने परमात्मा का सही सही मार्ग पकड़ लिया, जिसकी यात्रा कईं महत्वपूर्ण पड़ाव पार कर गई, उस साधक का नाम दशरथ है।

दूसरी ओर, जो दसों इन्द्रियों का बड़ा बड़ा मुँह फाड़ कर, मनमुखी होकर, संसार के समस्त सुखों को भोगना चाहता है, जो वासनालोलुप है, जो अभी संसार में ही रचा पचा है, कमाना, खाना और पैखाना ही जिसके जीवन का लक्ष्य है, जो मोह रूपी रात्रि में सोया है, देह और देह का सुख ही जिसके जीवन का एकमात्र लक्ष्य है, उस संसारी का नाम दशानन है।

पर एक बड़ी विचित्र बात है, शास्त्र दोनों जानते हैं, दोनों सगुरे हैं, तप दोनों प्रकार के मनुष्य करते हैं, पर एक बड़ा अंतर है। दशरथ जैसे परमात्मा प्राप्ति के लिए करते हैं, तो दशानन जैसे सुख प्राप्ति के लिए। यही कारण है कि फल दोनों को एक समान नहीं मिलता।

जो दशानन होता है उसके यहाँ काम(मेघनाद) पैदा होता है, जो दशरथ हो जाता है उसके यहाँ राम पैदा होते हैं।

लोकेशानन्द कहता है कि चुनाव अपना अपना है, पर इतना तो मालूम होना ही चाहिए कि काम विश्राम को खा जाता है और राम विश्राम के दाता हैं।

There are two characters in Ramayan, whose name includes "Ten" Dashrath and Dashanan. Let's discuss their spiritual meaning.

Look, there are ten of our senses. The human, who holds these ten senses, tightly with the rein of the mind and starts riding this body chariot. Means who is no longer a slave of the desires, who became introvert, became divine, oriented, took the right path, that seeker is named as Dashrath.

On the other hand, who wants to enjoy all the pleasures of the world by these ten senses, who is lustful. For whom earn, eat and defecate is the only goal of life, who is sleeping in the night of fascination. Whose target is body and body's lust. Such a human is Dashanan.

But there is a very strange thing, both know the scriptures, both are disciple, both do penance, but there is a big difference. Dashrath does it for Bhagwan's attainment, Dashanan does to get luxury. This is why both didn't get the same result.

Desires (Meghanad) is born in the palace of Dashanan, Ram is born to Dashrath.

Lokeshanand says that the choice is one's own, but it should be known that desires eat down the joy of life, whereas Ram grants blissfulness.
