आज गंगा पार करनी है।

"राम भगति जहँ सुरसरि धारा।"

गंगा माने भक्ति की धारा, यही वास्तविक कल्याण करती है, इसी धारा में डुबकी लगाने से पाप मिटता है, सदा सदा के लिए मिट जाता है, रहता ही नहीं।

यह भक्ति की धारा अपने बल पर पार नहीं होती, इसे पार करने के लिए केवट और उसकी नाव चाहिए। केवट माने जो पार लगा दे, और सद्गुरु ही पार लगाने वाले हैं। केवट माने सद्गुरु, नाव माने नाम।

"केवट हमको पार उतारो॥

बोले राम सुनो भाई केवट खाली हाथ हमारो।

तैर ना पाऊँ नदी अति गहरी पानी कारौ कारौ॥

केवट सद्गुरु नाम है नौका मैं भलीभांति विचारो।

कहे लोकेशानन्द रामसिया मेरे प्राण पियारो॥"

केवट वो जो स्वयं पार जा कर बैठा है। वह रास्ता भी जानता है, रास्ते पर चलाना भी जानता है। श्रद्धावान को, विनयपूर्वक आग्रह करने वाले को, केवट अपनी नाव पर बैठाकर, पार लगा देता है।

केवट अटपटे वचन बोलता है, अपनी मर्जी चलाता है, टेढ़ी मेढ़ी चाल चलता है, नाव भी घुमा घुमाकर खेता है, पर रामजी प्रसन्न मन बैठे ही रहते हैं, माने यहाँ केवट की ही चलती है, आपके मन की नहीं चलती।

वो जैसे चाहे चलाए, जैसा चाहे बोले, टेढ़ामेढ़ा ले जाए, देरी कर दे, जो जी में आए करे, आप इंकार न करो, एतराज न करो, साथ न छोड़ो, उनके और नाम के आश्रय में बैठे ही रहो, नियम का चप्पू चलाते रहो, पार हो ही जाओगे।

"किस्मत से जो डर जाए वो झेर नहीं होता,

ताकत पे जो इतराए वो शेर नहीं होता।

दरबार-ए-इलाही से मायूस न हो अ बंदे,

यहाँ देर तो होती है अंधेर नहीं होता॥"

और केवट उतराई भी नहीं लेता, पार लगा देता है, पर बदले में कुछ नहीं माँगता।

Today we have to cross the Holy river Ganga.

"Ram bhagati jahan sursari dhara"

Ganga means the stream of devotion. Devotion does real well-being, by immersing in this stream, sin is erased, it disappears forever, does not last.

One can't cross this stream of devotion on his own strength, one needs a boat and a sailor to cross it. The sailor is the one who takes you to the other side. Here Sailor (Kewat) means Guru ji, boat means Bhagwan's name, 'Ram' or 'Oum'.

Guru ji is the one who himself has reached the other end. He knows the path, and also knows how to lead others on that path. If you have faith, if you are a devotee, if you are polite enough, Guru ji will let you sit on his boat, and will take across.

Kevat the sailor, speaks strange words, runs on his free will, rows the boat here and there, but Shri Ram keeps sitting happily, means here you have to walk according to Guru ji, your choices do not work here.

Whatever he wants you to do, whatever he says, no matter how he takes you, even if he delays, you should do whatever he wants, you shouldn't deny, shouldn't object, shouldn't leave, keep sitting in his shelter, keep running the paddle of rules, you will go across.

"Like a lion never rests on its strength, a courageous man is never afraid of sorrows. Hey seeker! Don't get discouraged, It is late there, not the dark."

Guru ji leads you to that side, and does not even ask for anything in return.
