255 राम जी की विनय

राम जी विनय करते हैं। पूछते हैं कि आप चाहते क्या हैं? केवट चरण धूलि धोना चाहता है, कहता है, यह वही चरणामृत है, जिसे ब्रह्मा जी ने कमण्डल में रखा, शिव जी ने जटाओं में रख लिया, बलि ने घर में छिड़का, जनक जी ने भी रखा पर पीया नहीं, पर मैं पीऊँगा। क्यों?

अमृत रखने की वस्तु है, या पीने की? मैं तो चखकर देखूँगा, कि जिसकी इतनी महिमा है, उसका स्वाद कैसा है?

राम जी ने कहा, अच्छा वही करो जो तुम चाहो। पर केवट कहता है गरज मेरी है या आपकी? मुझमें चाह है ही नहीं। यहाँ आवश्यकता आपको है, चाह आपकी है, आप साफ साफ कहें, आप क्या चाहते हैं प्रभु!

भगवान को कहना पड़ा-

"बेगि आँय जल पाँय पखारू"

सीता जी ने इन चरणों के लिए जनकपुर और अयोध्या का त्याग किया, लक्षमण जी ने सुमित्रा जी और उर्मिला जी का त्याग किया, केवट बिना त्याग के ही इनकी सेवा चाहता है। कैसे? सीता जी का त्याग बहुत बड़ा है, लक्षमण जी का त्याग बहुत बहुत बड़ा है, पर केवट का अनुराग तो बड़े से भी बड़ा है।

केवट घर को दौड़ा, लगा कठोता उठाने, पत्नी चिल्लाई इसे कहाँ ले जा रहे हो?

-इसमें भगवान के चरण धोऊँगा।

-चरण धोने को कठौती है ना, वो ले जाओ, इसमें तो मैं आटा गूँधती हूँ।

केवट की आँखें भर आईं, बोला, हाँ! आज इसमें पदपदम पराग लगेगी, तूं इसे कभी न धोना, इसीमें बार बार आटा गूँथना, अब से हम हमेशा चरण रज मिली रोटी ही खाएँगे।

पत्नी कहती है, अच्छा, आज की रोटी तो खाते जाओ। केवट ने रोटियाँ गमछे में बाँध लीं।

-और सब्जी?

केवट कहता है, आज सब्जी नहीं चाहिए, चरणामृत में भिगो भिगो के खाऊँगा।

लोकेशानन्द कहता है- धन्य धन्य!!

Shri Ram asks- Kevat! What do you want?

Kevat wants to wash the dust of Bhagwan's feet. He says- This is the same Feet-nectar, which Brahma kept in kamandal, Shiva kept in hair, Bali sprinkled in the house, Janak kept it but didn't drink, but I will drink. Why?

You tell me, nectar is a thing to keep, or drink? I will taste it and see how does it taste, which is so glorified?

Ram ji said- Well, do what you want. But Kevat says- Bhagwan! Is this my requirement or yours? I have no desire. Here need is yours, desire is yours. You say clearly, what do you want?

Shri Ram had to say- Come quickly and wash my feet.

See, Sita sacrificed Janakpur and Ayodhya both for these feet, Lakshman renounced Sumitra and Urmila for the same, and Kevat wants to serve these feet without renouncing anything. How?

Sita's sacrifice is very great, Lakshman's sacrifice is much greater, but Kewat's love is even greater.

Kewat ran to his house, bent down to lift kneading earthen bowl.

His wife shouted- Where are you taking my bowl?

- I will wash Bhagwan's feet in it.

- But I knead the dough in it.

Kevat's eyes filled with tears. He said- Yes! Today it will be dusted by the dust of Bhagwan's feet, now on, you should never wash it, knead the dough again and again, henceforth we will always eat only the dusted bread.

Wife says- Okay, but at least eat today's bread. Kevat tied the bread in his towel.

Wife says- And vegetable?

Kewat says- I don't need vegetable today, I will eat bread only by soaking in Bhagwan's Feet-nectar.

Lokeshanand says- Blessed Blessed!!
