256 केवट ने चरण धोए

इधर, भगवान खड़े हैं, केवट आया, लगा चरण धो धोकर पीने। राम जी ने एक चरण तो धुलवा लिया, पर दूसरा तो कठोते में तब रखें, जब पहला कहीं रखें। केवट कहे, खबरदार! फिर से धूल न लगा लेना।

तो इसे कहाँ रखूं? हवा में ही रखें रहें। राम जी एक पैर पर खड़े हो रहे। पर कितनी देर? थक गए, केवट बोला, आप थक गए हों तो मेरे सिर का सहारा ले लो।

लक्षमण जी कहते हैं कि सारी दुनिया भगवान से कहती है कि भगवान मेरे सिर पर हाथ रख दो, हमें सहारा हो जाएगा। ये कहता है मेरे सिर पर हाथ रख लो, आपको सहारा हो जाएगा? भगवान कहते हैं लक्षमण मैं जो सारी दुनिया को सहारा देता हूँ, वह इन केवट जैसे संतों के सहारे ही तो देता हूँ।

"मोते अधिक संत करि लेखा।"

दोनों चरण धुल चुके, तो केवट ने भगवान को गोद में उठा लिया। राम जी केवट की छाती से चिपक गए। सबको नाव में चढ़ाकर केवट नाव चलाने लगा।

भैया! भगवान के पार जाने का तो बहाना है, केवट के जीवन की नैय्या पार हो रही है।

दूसरा किनारा आया, राम जी उतरकर खड़े हुए, केवट ने दण्डवत् कर चरण पकड़ लिए। लक्षमण जी पूछें कि उधर तो अकड़ रहा था, इधर पकड़ रहा है? केवट रोने लगा, बोला- छोटे सरकार! अकड़ के या पकड़ के, कैसे भी मुझे तो भगवान को रोकने का बहाना चाहिए।

लक्षमण जी! मुझे आपका भी तो भय है, आप शुरु से ही, मेरी ओर ही घूर रहे हैं, और मैं जानता हूँ जो इन चरणों में दण्डवत् करता है, उसे दण्ड नहीं मिलता।

लोकेशानन्द केवट की बुद्धिमता पर मुस्कुराने लगा।

Here, Ram is standing in wait, there Kevat came, started washing Ram's feet and drinking Feet-nectar. Shri Ram's one foot got washed, now the second one should be kept in the bowl, but it is possible only when the first one rests somewhere. As soon as Shri Ram starts to step it somewhere, Kevat says- Beware! Don't dust the feet again.

-So where do I put it?

-Keep it in the air.

So Ram ji stood on one leg. But how long would he stand? He got tired, then the Kevat said- If you are tired then take support of my head.

Lakshman says- The whole world tells Ram, Bhagwan! Put your hand on my head, we will have support. But this man says keep your hand on my head, you will get support?

Shri Ram says- Lakshman! Whatever support I give to the whole world, I give it only with the blessings of sants like Kevat. Sant should be respected more than me.

When both the feet were washed away, Kevat lifted Shri Ram in his lap. Ram ji clung to Kewat's chest. When everyone sat on the boat, he started driving the boat.

Today,  Ram is making an excuse to go himself, in fact Kevat is getting salvation.

When the other side came and Ram ji stood down, Kevat bowed and held his feet.

Lakshman asked that you were scolding there, and holding the feet here?

Kewat started crying, said- Lakshman ji! Whether I scold or hold, I need an excuse to stop Bhagwan. And brother! I am afraid of you, you are staring at me from the very beginning, and I know the secret that a person who bows at these feet doesn't get punished.

Lokeshanand smiled at Kewat's intelligence.
