268 भरत जी अयोध्या पहुँचे

भरत जी अयोध्या पहुँचे, अयोध्या में श्मशान जैसा सन्नाटा था। किसी नगरवासी ने भरत जी की ओर सीधे नहीं देखा।

आज तो सब भरत जी को संत मानते हैं, पर उस समय सब के मन में उनके लिए संशय था।

यही संसार की रीत है, जीवित संत को पहचान लेना हर किसी के बस की बात नहीं, क्योंकि संत चमड़े की आँख से नहीं, हृदय की आँख से पहचाना जाता है। पर वह है कितनों के पास? हाँ! उनके जाने के बाद तो सब छाती पीटते हैं। पर तब तक देर हो जाती है। जो चला गया वो चला गया।

भरत जी सीधे कैकेयी के महल में गए, क्योंकि राम जी वहीं मिलते थे। कैकेयी जी आरती का थाल लाई हैं, भरतजी पूछते हैं, भैया राम कहाँ हैं? पिताजी कहाँ हैं? काँपती वाणी से उत्तर मिला। वही हुआ जिसका कैकेयी जी को भय था। भरत जी की आँखों से दो वस्तु गिर गई, एक वो जो फिर गिरते ही रहे, आँसू। और दूसरी वो जो फिर नजरों में कभी उठ नहीं पाई, कैकेयी जी।

संत की नजरों से गिर जाना और जीवन नष्ट हो जाना, एक ही बात है।

भगवान के राज्याभिषेक के बाद की घटना है, कैकेयी जी राम जी के पास आईं, बोलीं- राम! मैं कुछ माँगूगी तो मिलेगा?

राम जी की आँखें भीग आईं, कहने लगे, माँ! मेरा सौभाग्य है, कि आपके काम आ सकूं, आदेश दें।

कैकेयी जी ने कहा, हो सके तो एकबार भरत के मुख से मुझे "माँ" कहलवा दो।

राम जी ने तुरंत भरत जी को बुलवा भेजा। भरत जी दौड़े आए, दरबार में कदम धरते ही कनखियों से समझ गए कि वहाँ और कौन बैठा है। तो कैकेयी जी को पीठ देकर खड़े हो गए।

राम जी ने पूछा, भरत! मेरी एक बात मानोगे भाई?

भरत जी के प्राण सूख गए, गला रुंध गया, परीक्षा की घड़ी आ गई। बोले, मानूँगा भगवान, जो आदेश देंगे मानूँगा, पर एक बात को छोड़ कर।

राम जी ने पूछा, वह क्या भरत?

भरत जी कहते हैं, इन्हें माँ नहीं कहूँगा।

Bharat ji reached Ayodhya, it looks like that Ayodhya is a crematorium today.

Nobody looks directly at Bharat. Today, when you are reading this writing, everyone considers Bharat a sant, but at that time everyone had doubts about him.

This is the way of the world, not everyone can identify an alive sant, because a sant is not identified with leather's eye, but with the eye of the heart. But how many have that eye? Yes! After he leaves, everyone beats chest.

Bharat went to Kaikeyi's palace directly, as Shri Ram used to stay there. Kaikeyi has brought the plate of puja, Bharat asks, where is brother Ram? Where is father? Got answer from trembling voice. And that happened what Kaikeyi feared.

Two things fell from Bharat's eyes, one that continued to fall, tears. And another who could never get up in the eye again, Kaikeyi.

Falling from the eyes of a sant and destroying life, is the same thing.

Let me tell you about an event after Bhagwan's coronation. One day Kaikeyi came to Ram and said- Ram! If I ask for something, will I get it?

Ram's eyes got wet, He said- Mother! I am fortunate to be able to work for you, please order.

Kaikeyi said- If possible, I want to hear the word "Mother" from Bharat's mouth once.

Ram ji immediately called Bharat. Bharat came running, as soon as he stepped in the court, understood from the corner of his eye, that who else is sitting there. He didn't face Kaikeyi, turned his face and stood up.

Ram asked- Bharat! Will you accept one thing my brother?

Bharat's soul dried up, throat strangled, the hour of examination came. Bharat said- I will obey your every command, except one.

Ram asked- What is that Bharat?

Bharat said- I will never call her mother.
