272 अयोध्या का दरबार

आज अयोध्या में बहुत दिनों बाद दरबार लगा है। राजसिंहासन सूना पड़ा है, वशिष्ठ जी सभाध्यक्ष हैं।

भरत जी और राममाता ने दरबार में प्रवेश किया। विचित्र दृश्य है, होना तो यह चाहिए था कि भरत जी माँ को सहारा देते, यहाँ माँ ही भरत जी को सहारा देकर ला रहीं हैं। उनका अपने से खड़े रह पाना ही कठिन हो रहा है, चलना तो दूर की बात है।

कौशल्या जी बाँई ओर के सिंहासन पर बैठ गईं, भरत जी ने कातर दृष्टि से पहले शत्रुघ्न जी की ओर देखा, फिर भूमि पर दृष्टि टिका ली। शत्रुघ्न जी ने तुरंत नीचे भूमि पर उतरीय बिछा दिया, भरत जी बैठ गए।

गुरु जी धीर गंभीर वाणी से बोले, भरत! चक्रवर्ती महाराज ने राम को वनवास और तुम्हें यह राजपद दिया है, जैसे राम ने पिता जी की आज्ञा मानी, तुम भी मानो। कम से कम, जब तक राम लौटकर अयोध्या वापिस नहीं आ जाते, तब तक तो बैठो।

अधिकार समझकर नहीं तो जिम्मेदारी समझकर, कर्तव्य समझकर ही बैठो, पर बैठो। राम के आ जाने पर, जो उचित समझो करना, पर अभी तो पद संभालना ही योग्य है।

भरत! यह अयोध्या रूपी पौधा कितने कितने महापुरुषों के जीवन से सींचा गया है, क्या यह यूँही सूख जाएगा?

राममाता का भी यही मत है, वे भी समझाती हैं, सभी मंत्री भी यही समझा रहे हैं। पर भरत जी का मत है कि पहले मैं भगवान का दर्शन करूंगा, राज्य संचालन बाद में देखा जाएगा।

देखें, धर्म दो प्रकार का माना गया है, देह धर्म और आत्म धर्म। जहाँ देह धर्म आत्म धर्म में रुकावट बन जाता है, वहाँ महापुरुष देह धर्म छोड़ देता है। भरत जी भी देह धर्म छोड़ रहे हैं। भरत जी कहते हैं, मेरा जन्म राम जी की सेवा के लिए हुआ है, भोग भोगने के लिए नहीं हुआ।

Kaushalya also has the same view, she also advised the same. All ministers are also giving the same advice. But Bharat is of the opinion that first I will see Ram, the state will be seen later.

See, there are two types of duties, physical duty and self realization. Where physical duty becomes a hindrance to self realization, great men leave physical duty. Bharat is also leaving the physical duty. Bharat says that I am born to serve Ram, not to enjoy worldly possessions.
