285 भरत जी आए

सजलनेत्र भगवान ने धनुष बाण संभाल लिया, होठों पर मुस्कान ले आए। मुस्कान आने वाले के लिए, धनुष उस आने वाले के साथ आने वाले शत्रु के लिए। शत्रु कौन? भरत जी के जिस हृदय सिंहासन पर मैं बैठता था, उस पर जलन बैठ गई है, उस जलन को मिटा दूंगा। राम जी की भाव समाधि लग गई।

भरत जी पीछे से आए, भगवान को देखा, खड़ा नहीं रहा गया, लकुटि की तरह गिरे। लकुटि माने लाठी, और लकुटि माने कपड़ा भी, संत कहते हैं कृष्णावतार में भगवान लकुटि उठाए उठाए ही फिरे, कहते हैं, ये मुझे भरत की याद दिलाती है।

भरत जी के मुख से निकला "पाहिमाम पाहिमाम"। लक्ष्मण जी ने सुना, आँखें जल से और मन ग्लानि से भरा है, बाहर भीतर दोनों ओर से भीगे हैं, मुझसे भक्त का अपराध हो गया। लक्ष्मण जी तन से कहीं भी रहें, मन से भगवान के पास ही रहते हैं, पर आज दल बदल गया, तन तो राम जी के पास है, मन भरत जी के पास चला गया।

राम जी को सूचना देने बढ़े तो भरत जी की ओर पीठ हो गई। पूछने पर कि आपने तो भरत जी को पीठ दिखा दी? लक्ष्मण जी कहते हैं, हाँ! क्योंकि मैं भरत को मुख दिखाने में सक्षम नहीं हूँ, इसी मुख से मैंने उसे कुटिल कुबंधु कहा था ना।

उनके जिन नेत्रों में ज्वाला भरी थी, अब जल भरा है। लक्ष्मण जी ने राम जी के चरणों में सिर रख दिया, चरण भीगे, समाधि टूटी, भगवान ने लक्ष्मण जी से पूछा, सजग लोचन आज सजल लोचन कैसे हो रहे हो?

लक्ष्मण जी ने कहा- प्रभु! कोई प्रणाम कर रहा है।

-कौन?

-भरत जी।

लोकेशानन्द कहता है कि बस इसके बाद लक्ष्मण जी बोल नहीं सके, राम जी बैठ नहीं सके।

Shri Ram picked his bow and arrow with wet eyes, and brought a smile to his lips. Smile for Bharat, and bow for the enemy who is with Bharat. Who is the enemy? The heart burn, that is in the heart of Bharat, on which I sat, I will erase that burn. Ram got emotional.

Bharat came from behind, saw Ram's back. He couldn't stand, and fell like a lakuti. Lakuti means stick, and cloth too, Lokeshanand says that Krishna in Krishnavatar always kept a cloth on his shoulder, saying, It reminds me of Bharat.

"Pahimam Pahimam" Bharat uttered. Lakshman heard, his eyes filled with water, and mind with guilt, inside and outside he is wet on both sides, I did a crime to a devotee. Lakshman's body may be anywhere, but his heart remains with Ram, but today situation has changed, body is with Ram, heart has gone to Bharat.

When he went to inform Ram ji that Bharat has come, he showed his back to Bharat. On asking that why did you show your back to Bharat? Lakshman says- Because I am not able to show him my face, with this mouth I called him crooked, accused him.

His eyes, which were full of fire previously, are now full of tears. Lakshman laid his head at Ram's feet, feet drenched, Samadhi broken, Ram asked- Lakshman! why are you weeping?

Lakshman said- Bhagwan! Somebody is bowing.

Ram- Who?

Lakshman- Bharat!

Lokeshanand says that after this Lakshman couldn't speak, Ram couldn't sit.
