291 जयंत प्रसंग

भगवान सीता जी को सजाकर उनकी गोद में सर रखे थे। इन्द्रपुत्र जयन्त ने देखा तो उसे भ्रम हो गया। वह सीता जी के चरण में चोंच मारकर भागा।

सीता जी ने कुछ नहीं कहा, पर भगवान ने जान लिया। राम जी ने एक तिनका जयन्त के पीछे छोड़ दिया। भक्त के लिए सूली भी शूल है, भक्तद्रोही के लिए शूल भी सूली हो गया।

जयन्त को लगा मेरे पीछे ब्रह्म बाण लगा है। और ऐसा नहीं है कि वह उसी के पीछे लगा हो, हम सबके पीछे बाण लगा है, काल का बाण। आज चर्चा करेंगे कि इससे कैसे बचा जाता है।

जयन्त इन्द्र के पास गया, सब उसी के पास जाते हैं, इन्द्र माने इन्द्रियों का राजा, मन। पर मन तो स्वयं पल पल मरने वाला है, उसी ने तो काल का बंधन डाला है, वह रक्षा कैसे करे?

जयन्त ब्रह्मा के पास गया, ब्रह्मा माने अज, माने बुद्धि, 

"अहंकार शिव बुद्धि अज मन शशि चित्त महान"

बुद्धि के पास भी मृत्यु से बचने का कोई उपाय नहीं है।

पर एक को दया आई, नारदजी को। नारद माने नादरन्ध्र की प्राप्ति वाले महात्मा, माने आत्मज्ञानी संत। नारद जी ने स्वयं कहा- जयन्त यहाँ आओ। जयन्त बोला- मैं रुक नहीं सकता, देखो मेरे पीछे ब्रह्म बाण लगा है।

नारद जी ने कहा- जयन्त, भागना इससे बचने का उपाय नहीं है। सत्य भी यही है, कहाँ भागोगे? जहाँ भी जाओ, काल तो पीछे लगा ही है। जयन्त चिल्लाया- यह तो मैं भी जानता हूँ, पर करूं क्या?

नारद जी ने कहा- जयन्त, जा चला जा उन्हीं के चरणों में जिनका ये बाण है। जयंत को संत मिल गए, अब उसका अंत नहीं होगा, अब तो भगवंत मिलेंगे। जयन्त वापिस दौड़ा, गिरा राम जी के चरणों में, पर उल्टा गिरा। माँ ने करुणा की, उठाकर सीधा कर दिया।

राम जी मुस्कुराए, प्राणदान दे दिया, तिनका पकड़ा और जयन्त को एक आँख का कर दिया। द्वैत दृष्टि मिट गई, अद्वैत रह गया, एक रह गया। अपराधी भी धन्य हो गया। हम भी उस बाण से बचना चाहें तो उन श्रीचरणों में जाने के सिवा कोई उपाय नहीं है, कोई उपाय नहीं है॥

लोकेशानन्द कहता है कि यही हुआ जब बामन भगवान ने शुक्राचार्य को एक आँख का किया, और अर्जुन ने मछली को एक आँख का किया।

Jayant went to Indra, everyone goes to him, Indra means the king of the senses, mind. But the mind itself is dying every moment, time has tied it too, how can it protect?

Jayant went to Brahma, Brahma means wisdom,

"Ahankaar Shiva buddhi Aj, man Shashi chitt Mahan"

Wisdom also has no way to avoid death.

But one had pity, Narad ji. Narad means the Mahatma, the enlightened sant, who attained Naad randhra.

Narad ji himself called him- Jayant! Come here.

Jayant said- I can't stop, look, death is following me.

Narad ji said- Jayant! Running is not a solution to avoid death. Where will you run? Wherever you go, death follows you.

Jayant shouted- I too know this, but what should I do?

Narad ji said- Jayant! Go to his feet, who's arrow is this.

Jayant met the sant, now he will not die, now he will meet Bhagwant. Jayant ran back, fell at Shri Ram's feet.

Ram ji smiled, gave his life, grabbed the straw, hit the straw in one of his eye and left Jayant one eyed. The duality disappeared, the Advaita remained, only one remained. The criminal also got blessed. If we want to avoid that arrow, then there is no other way than to go to Ram's feet. There is no other way.

Lokeshanand says that the same thing happened when Vaman Bhagwan left Shukracharya one eyed, and Arjun left the fish one eyed.
